Few rules, and clear ones. The idea is that everyone has a good time and nobody gets an unpleasant surprise.
Frosthold is a non-profit project. We do not charge to play, there is no shop and we do not take donations in exchange for advantages.
In return, we do not promise availability either: the realm can restart, be out of service for a while or lose data. We take backups, but we do not guarantee that nothing is ever lost.
This is not the official server. The core is AzerothCore, an open source emulator, and some quests, scripts or mechanics behave differently or simply fail.
If you find a bug, write to us. We do not promise a quick fix, but we do promise to read it.
Never, by any means. Not in game, not by email, not in any chat. If someone asks for it claiming to be staff, it is a scam.
If you forget your password, you recover it yourself: request a link on the site and it arrives at the address you registered with. It expires in 30 minutes, works only once, and nobody on the team is involved.
No shop, no paid items, no sold levels, no perks for donating. Everyone plays on the same terms.
The rates: x8 experience (x24 with Recruit a Friend), x4 green and blue items, x2 gold from creatures, x1 gold from quests, x3 weapon skills, x4 professions, x8 reputation (x16 with Recruit a Friend) and x3 honor.
Levelling is fast on purpose. Gold and gear are not: those you earn by playing.
No harassment, hate speech, cheating or deliberate abuse of game bugs. Exploiting a bug on purpose to gain an advantage counts as cheating.
The community is small and everything shows. Looking after it is everyone’s job.
We keep the minimum of your data: your username, your email and your characters. The password itself is never stored, not even encrypted: the site turns it into an SRP6 salt and verifier—an irreversible operation that cannot be walked back to the password—and that, never the password, is what reaches the realm. The email is only for recovering access: there are no ads and we do not share anything with third parties.
This is also a personal project and it can end. If that moment comes, we will announce it here in advance instead of just disappearing.
